Alcatel Idol 4 launched in India for Rs. 16,999


Alcatel has launched the Idol 4 smartphone in India for Rs. 16,999. The Idol 4 is now available for purchase exclusively on Flipkart in Gold, Metal Silver and Dark Grey colors, and comes bundled a VR headset and JBL earphones.

The Idol 4 was initially unveiled at MWC back in February this year and comes with a VR mode to offer an immersive 360-degree content viewing and gaming experience, when you use the smartphone with  the bundled VR headset. The phone has a Boom Key button, located on the right side, that lets you control the camera, gallery, video, music games and more.

Coming to the specs, the Alcatel Idol 4 features 5.2-inch Full HD display, octa-core Snapdragon 617 (w/ Adreno 405 GPU), 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. 

For photography, the Idol 4 comes with 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, EIS (electronic image stabilisation) and f/2.0 aprture. On the front there's 8MP camera for selfies and video calling.

Running Android Marshmallow, it is backed by a 2610mAh battery and supports 4G LTE, hybrid dual-SIM slots, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, NFC and USB OTG. The phone also boasts dual-speakers powered by Wave MaxxAudio technology along with Smart PA for amplifying audio that offer a total audio output of 7.2 watts.

It's worth mentioning that the Idol 4 has also been re-branded as BlackBerry DTEK50. The phone was launched in India last month at Rs. 21,990. The difference between both models is that the latter comes with BlackBerry branding and security features.
