HTC Ocean Note will have outstanding camera, no 3.5mm jack, launch expected January 12

Details of a new HTC smartphone called Ocean Note has hit the interwebs.  Accroding to a report coming out of Taiwan, the HTC Ocean Note will be following HTC Bolt/ 10 Evo's lead and ditch the headphone jack in favor of audio output via USB Type-C. However, HTC will  provide a USB Type-C headphone supporting 'Adaptive Audio' technology along with the handset.

The source also says that the Ocean Note will have an outstanding rear shooter with the highest DxOMark score of any smartphone camera yet. For those unaware,  DxOMark is a website that provides image quality ratings for standalone cameras, lenses, and mobile devices that include cameras.

Currently, with a score of 89, Google's Pixel tops the DxOMark list, followed by HTC 10 at 88 score. Interestingly the Google Pixel was also manufactured by HTC, so there is no doubt that HTC will look to further improve the camera on its upcoming phone.

It is also being said that Ocean Note will come in two variants, one with 5.5-inch display and a larger 5.7-inch screen, and may feature a curved display, similar to Galaxy S7 edge. Further more Ocean Note  will utilize a MediaTek processor, instead of Qualcomm's chip, have dual-SIM slots, support 4G LTE and arrive in Black, White and Blue hues.

HTC is expected to unveil the Ocean Note on January 12 at its 'For U' event, and is rumored to go on sale shortly after January 28. Apart from Ocean Note, HTC is also expected to launch HTC  X10 and another unnamed smartphone in the first quarter of 2017.
