Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus start receiving Android Nougat

Last month Motorola rolled out Android Nougat to its flagship Moto Z smartphone. Now, the Lenovo owned company is reportedly pushing Nougat to Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus in India.

Earlier the phones had received Nougat, but that turned out to be soak test. But now, a Moto G series owner has received  NPJ25.93-11 update notification for OTA carrying Nougat, and also confirmed with Motorola's live chat to ensure it was an actual update and not a soak test. The customer support representative also confirmed that it was an official roll out, which was being pushed batch-wise. So, it appears that the update is rolling out to a small number of Moto G4/G4 Plus devices.

Android Nougat for Moto G4/Moto G4 Plus brings features like Multi-window support, notification enhancements, data saver, direct boot, background optimization and more. The update also includes security patch for November 1 and Moto-related software features: a new Moto action called "Swipe to Shrink the Screen"  and "Fingerprint Sensor for Screen Lock" (Moto G4 Plus only).
