Xiaomi intros new Mi Electric Scooter in China


Xiaomi's sub-brand Mija has launched its latest product, the Mi Electric Scooter in China. It sports an air-craft grade aluminum alloy body that weighs 12.5kg and has a foldable design, that lets you fold it in just three seconds with a press of a button.

The Mi Electric Scooter  packs a 280Wh lithium-ion battery that offers battery life of 30km (75kg load). It has a top speed of 25km per hour and maximum torque of 16nm through a DC motor.

It also packs some other interesting technology like KERS (kinetic energy recovery system) to recover energy from braking movement, dual-break system, cruise control and E-ABS system for controlled braking. The the rear wheel uses mechanical disc brakes.



The electric scooter also boasts a companion smartphone app, which it connects to via Bluetooth and allows users to see battery life, speed, track energy recovery system intensity, update the scooter's firmware and more among others.

The Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter is priced at CNY 199 ($290 | Rs. 20,000) and will be available starting December 15 in Black and White colors.
