Xiaomi launches Mi VR Play headset in India for Rs. 999


Xiaomi has launched its first VR headset, the Mi VR Play in India for Rs. 999. The VR headset will be available via Mi.com starting December 21.

Xiaomi's Mi VR Play sports a zipper design to prevent the inserted smartphone from falling out. The headset is made out of Leica fabric (nylon + spandex) and EVA material, making it lightweight and skin-friendly.

The Mi VR Play is designed to be used with smartphones with screen sizes between 4.7" and 5.7". With the headset, you can experience panoramic videos, 360-degree YouTube videos, VR games and apps designed for the headset. These apps can be accessed from the dedicated app and to interact with them there's a button on top of the headset.

Alongside the VR headset, Xiaomi also released Mi Live Video streaming app. Regarding the app, Xiaomi said ― "Mi Live is our livestream app where you can share your daily thoughts, music talents, fitness tips, and more with the world.It has several built-in features like video chat and Beautify. In Mi Live, you can talk to the hosts, send comments, and they can respond to you in real time. It’s very interactive."
