Acer's TravelMate Spin B1 is a rugged convertible for education market
Acer has a new mid-range Windows 10 convertible notebook called TravelMate Spin B1 designed for day-to-day use in the classroom.
The convertible has a rugged design sporting a shock-absorbent middle rubber frame to survive falls, handle 60kg of downward force on its lid, and a spill resistant keyboard that can withstand pills of up to 11 ounces of liquid. It also has a 360-degree hinge, that lets the convertible to be used in laptop, tablet, tent or stand mode.
The Travel Mate Spin B1 features 11.6-inch touch display and will be available with the option of Full HD or HD screen resolution. It comes with Stylust to support Windows Ink, so students will be able to write or draw. It is powered by an Intel processor, and there is no word on RAM and storage.
Other features include 2 x USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, HDMI port, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm audio jack and microSD card slot.he convertible promises up to 13 hours of battery life.
The Acer TravelMate Spin B1 will be available in Q2 2017 starting at $299. Acer says that exact specifications, price and availability will vary by region.
