Gionee outs Steel 2 with 4000mAh battery

Gionee has come out with a new budget smartphone in home market of China called Steel 2 sporting a full metal unibody design and very slim bezels.

The Gionee Steel 2 features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor with 3GB RAM. It will be available in two storage options ㅡ 16GB and 32GB. The storage is also expandable via microSD card.

For photography, it gets 8MP rear camera with LED and 5MP front facing camera with screen flash. Connectivity options include dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. A decent 4000mAh battery runs the show, rated to deliver up to 45.45 hours of talk time, up to 7.94 hours of continuous video playback and up to 22 days of standby.

The phone boots Android Marshmallow based Amigo3.5 and has a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button. It measures 144.3 x 70.5 x 8.6mm, weighs 160g and comes in Jazz Gold and Gold Black hues.

The Gionee Steel 2 is priced at CNY 1299 ($188 | Rs. 13,000) for the 16GB model and is up for pre-order in China.
