vivo V5 Lite with 16MP front camera announced
Chinese smartphone maker has announced a toned down version of vivo V5 called V5 Lite. It comes with lower RAM, camera and ditches the home button/fingerprint scanner, when compared to vivo V5.
The vivo V5 Lite has a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by an octa-core processor (MediaTek MT6750) paired with 3GB RAM (vs 4GB RAM on V5). Storage capacity on-board is 32GB, which can be further expanded via microSD card.
It gets 13MP f/2.0 rear camera with LED flash and 16MP f/2.2 front camera (vs 20MP on V5) with LED flash as well to offer quality selfies in low-light environment.
Connectivity duties are handled by hybrid dual-SIM slots (micro SIM + nano SIM or microSD card), 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. USB-OTG is also supported.It gets juice from a 3000mAh battery to keep the lights on.
For software, it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Funtouch OS 3.0, and boasts features like Smart Split 2.0 and Eye Protection mode to reduce blue light and prevent eye strain. It sports a sleek metal unibody design that comes in Crown Gold and Rose Gold colors, measuring 153.8 x 75.5 x 7.6mm and weighs at 155g.
The vivo V5 Lite is listed on the company website without pricing and availability details. However, the handset have been spotted on Indian eCommerce website onlymobiles with a price tag of Rs. 15,980.
vivo is also gearing up to launch the dual-front camera totting (20MP + 8MP) V5 Plus in India on January 23. Currently it is not known whether V5 Lite will also be launched in the country as well.
