vivo V5 Plus specs detailed ahead of India launch

After V5 and V5 Lite, vivo is also set to launch the third member of the V5 series in India on January 23 dubbed vivo V5 Plus. Now ahead of the India launch, the vivo V5 Plus is available for pre-order in Malaysia, and the complete specs and pricing of the smartphone are detailed.

Similar to V5 and V5 Lite, the vivo V5 Plus is a selfie-centric smartphone, in this case the main highlight is the front facing dual-cameras. The V5 Plus has a 20MP Sony IMX376 (w/ Moonlight flash) + 8MP front  facing camera (for depth information and bokeh effect while taking selfies), which will be a treat for selfie lovers.

The V5 Plus will feature 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt-storage, 16MP f/2.0 PDAF rear camera (w/ LED flash), dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, fingerprint scanner and 3160mAh battery. It will ship with Android Marshmallow based Funtouch OS 3.0.

Interestingly, the design and specs of V5 Plus are similar to that found on vivo X9. This indicates that V5 Plus is a re-branded vivo X9 for the international market.

The vivo V5 Plus is currently up for pre-order in Malaysia for 1799 RM ($400 | Rs. 27,500), and will start shipping from January 21. We should now the Indian pricing of the smartphone next Monday. Apart from India, the vivo V5 Plus is also expected to launch in other Asian markets in the coming days as well.
