Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 lands in India starting at Rs. 9,999

After a super successful 2016 in India, Xiaomi is welcoming 2017 with the launch of highly-anticipated Redmi Note 4 in the country. It is the successor to the widely popular Redmi Note 3 and gets a minor but significant hardware upgrade and an improved design, sporting a brushed metal body with chamfered edges at the back and 2.5D curved glass on the front, giving it a premium look.

The Redmi Note 4 will be available in three variants — 2GB RAM/32GB storage priced at Rs. 9,999, 3GB RAM/32GB storage priced at Rs. 10,999, and 4GB RAM/64GB storage priced at Rs. 12,999.

It retains the same 5.5-inch Full HD display, as the Redmi Note 3, but gets more horsepower with octa-core Snapdragon 625 14nm processor, instead of hexa-core Snapdragon 650 28nm chip found on Redmi Note 3.

For photography, there's 13MP f/2.0 rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and PDAF. For selfies and video calling there's 5MP front facing camera.

It runs Android Marshmallow based MIUI 8, and supports expandable storage, dual-SIMs (via hybrid SIM slots), 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. There's also a fingerprint scanner at the back.

The device is backed by 4100mAh battery, which will offer 25 percent more batter life compared to Redmi Note 3 according to Xiaomi.

Xiaomi will sell the Redmi Note 4 exclusively on Flipkart and Mi.com starting January 23 in Gold and Grey hues. There’s also a new matte black colour option that will be available in February.
