LG G6 to boast 13MP dual rear cameras with 125-degree wide-angle lens

After confirming that the G6 will feature 5.7-inch QHD+ "Full Vision" display with 18:9 aspect ratio and water-proof design, LG has revealed a few new tidbits about the camera of its upcoming flagship.

According to the latest information from LG, the G6 will feature dual-rear cameras like the LG V20 and G5, but G6 will be equipped with 2 x 13MP  units, instead of 16MP+8MP cameras. It will also have 125 degrees field of view, which according to LG is most similar to a human's field of view.

The front facing camera will have 100-degree field of view, however the camera sensor is not known.

LG has already confirmed the G6 will come with the new UX 6.0 user interface, offering improved camera UX to take advantage of the 18:9 format, allowing users to take and review photos simultaneously.

The UX 6.0 will provide a  Square Camera function which divides the 18:9 display into two identical parts. This will allow users to capture photos in 1:1 format, making it easier to share on social platforms like Instagram.

Apart from Square Camera snapshot, it will also offer various shooting modes like Matched shot, grid shot and Guide shot. There's also the ability to create GIFs from photos in the gallery, 360 panorama mode to capture surrounding scenery for a VR-like view,  and food mode to boast color quality and saturation.

LG will officially unveil the G6 on February 26 at MWC, Barcelona.
