New Samsung phone with MediaTek Helio P20, 3GB RAM, Nougat runs through benchmarks

Despite the Galaxy Note7 fiasco, Samsung was able to make profit in Q4 2016 thanks to the sales of budget smartphones in the Galaxy J, Galaxy A and Galaxy On line-up. Expectations with the entry-level to mid-range segment smartphones are high this year as well and the company aims to ship more that 100 million units.

That being said, an unannounced Samsung smartphone with model number SM-G615F have run through GFXBench and GeekBench benchmarking website running on Google's latest Android Nougat. The phone is said to belong to the Galaxy On line up and successor to the Galaxy On7 2016 (model number SM-G610).

According to the benchmarks, Samsung SM-G615F will be powered by 2.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6757 Helio P20 processor with Mali T880 GPU. It will sports 5.7-inch Full HD display and comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB on-board storage. For photography, the phone is expected to have 12MP rear camera with auto-focus, face detection, HDR and LED flash. On the front  it will sports 12MP camera as well.

Currently it's not known when Samsung plans to release SM-G615F or Galaxy On7 (2017). However, the company is expected to launch the Galaxy A 2017 series in India later this month and introduce the Galaxy J5 (2017) and J3 (2017) soon.
