Sony PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4 Slim, PlayStation VR headset arrives in India


Sony's much awaited gaming consoles, the PlayStation Pro, PlayStation 4 Slim along with PlayStation VR headset have finally arrived in India.

The Sony PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 4 Slim will be available in mid-February for Rs. 38,990 and Rs. 27,990 respectively. The Sony PlayStation VR headset will be available in March for Rs. 37,990. Sony will also sell a bundled package inclusive of the VR headset and PS4 camera carrying a price tag of Rs. 41,990. All these products are up for pre-order in select stores across the country. 

Sony PS4 Pro
The Sony PS4 Pro is an upgraded and more powerful version of PS4 bosting two new main features like 4K resolution gameplay and HDR capabilities. These features will deliver a vivid and detailed gaming experience when playing games, compared to its predecessor. Apart from 4K support and HDR, PS4 Pro also gets 1TB HDD, and faster CPU and GPU.


Sony also announced popular gaming titles like The Last of US Remastered, Uncharted 4: A Thief's end, Call of Duty: Infinite Warefare and Rachet & Clank for the PS4 Pro.

Sony PS4 Slim
The PS4 Slim on the other hand is a slimmer version version of the orginal PS4, but houses the same processing power. It is 30 percent smaller and 16 percent lighter compared to PS4. Power consumption has also been reduced by 28 percent.

Sony PS VR headset
Sony's PS VR, is the company's first attempt at virtual reality headset. It is high-end VR headset similar HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, letting gamers to enjoy high-graphics games on their gaming console. However, unlike HTC Vive and Oculus Rift which requires high-performance PCs, the PS VR headset works only with PS4 gaming consoles including PS4 Pro, PS4 Slim and original PS4.


The specs of Sony's VR headset include The specs include 5.7-inch OLED display running at 120Hz refresh rate and having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 960 x 1080 per eye. The field of view comes in at right around 100 degrees with latency less than 18ms. The Games compatible with the VR headset include Batman: Arkham VR, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard and Driveclub VR.
