LG confirms Nougat update for G4 and V10

LG has confirmed it will roll out Android 7.0 Nougat update for its 2015 flagships, the V10 and G4 in the coming months. The LG V10 will get Nougat in second quarter of 2017, which is between April and June, while the LG G4 will get Nougat treatment in the third quarter, which is between July and September.

This comes as a relief for V10 and G4 owners, as LG previously said it will not provide Nougat update for these devices, due to "internal compatibility with the new Android system, it was concluded that it is difficult to maintain optimized performance." However due to consumer complaints, LG was forced to rethink the decision and reverse it.

The Nougat roll out for LG V10 and LG G4 will first take place in home market South Korea, followed by global markets. Time frame of global roll out will be announced separately.

LG recently introduced its latest feature loaded flagship, the G6 at MWC 2017 with Nougat and Google Assistant. The LG V20 already ships with Nougat, while the company's previous 'G's series flagship, the G5, that launched with Marshmallow on-board, has already been updated to Nougat.
