New Nokia 3310 coming to India before the brand’s Android phones


HMD Global has already confirmed that the recently launched Nokia Android smartphones (Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6), as well as Nokia 3310 feature phone will launch in India in June. Now it appears that the Nokia 3310 will arrive early than the Android smartphones.

According to Gadgets360, HMD Global is planning to launch Nokia 3310 in India earlier than Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. Ajay Mehta, HMD Global's VP, India, told the publication, the company will launch all four Nokia phone in India starting end-May or early-June, but the Nokia 3310 could be launched soon, however the company is yet finalize a date.

Previously a report suggested that Nokia devices will be manufactured locally by Foxconn, and Mehta confirmed the report, and said the company plans to to have all phone manufactured in the country, given that Foxconn is able to ramp up the production.

In line with previous reports, Mehta also said that Nokia phones will be available through both online and offline channels. However some of the smartphone will be available exclusively online, and other will be sold offline. For instance if Nokia 3310 is sold via online channels, than it won't be available offline. Similarly, phones sold offline will not be available via e-commerce portals, at least officially. The strategy is designed to protect the interest of all channels.

He also said that the company is ramping up its after sales services in India, and by the time the new Nokia phone are launched, the company expects to have a physical presence in 250 cities, with after sales service presence.

Speaking of Nokia 3310, it got a 2017 refresh at MWC 2017, with a thin light and more attractive look sporting strong, sturdy and rugged case in four peppy colors including Warm Red and Yellow with glossy finish, and Dark Blue and Grey with matte finish. It features a color display with sunlight readability, built-in Snake and Space Impact games and improved battery life. It is priced at 49 Euros, INR equivalent of Rs. 4,000.
