The $10 Raspberry Pi Zero W comes with WiFi and Bluetooth


Raspberry Pi Zero, the miniature version of Raspberry Pi board PC is getting an upgrade. Dubbed Raspberry Pi Zero W, the new tiny PC gets WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless chip, the same found on Pi 3 Model B, and an extra $5 price tag.

Apart from the addition of wireless chip, the rest of the configuration remains unchanged. The Raspberry Pi Zero W features Broadcom BCM2835 application processor clocked at 1GHz, 512MB RAM, microSD card slot, mini-HDMI port (1080p @ 60fps), microUSB ports (data and power), HAT-compatible 40 pin header, composite video and reset headers, and CSI camera connector.


There's also cases for Raspberry Pi Zero W made by Kinneir Dufort and T-Zero. These shares the same design language as the official case for the Raspberry Pi 3, and features three interchangeable lids ― A blank one, One with an aperture to let you access the GPIOs and One with an aperture and mounting point for a camera.

The Raspberry Pi Zero W is priced at just $10 (Rs. 670) and is already available from Zero distributors, including new ones like ModMyPi in the UK, pi3g in Germany, Samm Tekonolojiin Turkey, Kubii in France, Spain, Italy and Portugal, and Kiwi Electronics in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
