Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 could sport curved AMOLED display with 93% screen-to-body ratio

The Xiaomi Mi MIX was a unqiue futuristic looking device sporting a bezel-less design with 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. Last month Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun confirmed that work has begun on its successor, the Mi MIX 2, and will be designed by Frenchman Philippe Starck, who also designed the Mi MIX.

Now according to a report coming out of China, Mi MIX 2 will boast 93 percent screen-to-body ratio, meaning it will cover more area and get even slimmer bezels compared to Mi MIX.

The Mi MIX had a LCD display, but the Mi MIX 2 is said to sport curved AMOLED display, somewhat looking similar to Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S8. The report further says that Mi MIX2 will an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, embedded under the display, instead of the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner of the Mi MIX.

Even though Xiaomi is opting for a design change, the Mi MIX 2 will retain the ceramic body, Cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustics system (under the display to replace earpiece; to listen to calls) and and bottom end front camera.

The Mi MIX 2 is expected to launch by the end of this year, and is rumored to feature Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 835 chip and IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
