ASUS ROG GX800 liquid cooled gaming laptop launched in India


Earlier this week, Asus launched a high-end beastly gaming laptop in India called ROG GX800 priced at Rs. 7,97,990. It is an upgraded GX700 with more powerful hardware and will be available on request.

Like the GX700, the ROG GX800 comes with detachable Hydro Overclocking system liquid-cooling module to dissipate the heat inside when extreme overclocking of the CPU and graphics card takes place. According to ROG "connection between the Hydro Overclocking System and GX800 ensures coolant flows smoothly between the two without leaking. The coolant is pumped and circulated around the processor and graphics card, before it returns to the cooling module where two radiators help to dissipate heat. To cope with these demands, GX800 has two 330W power adapters,”


The ROG GX800 features 18-inch 4K Ultra HD G-SYN display and is powered by Intel's Core i7-7820HK Kaby Lake processor, with base frequency of 2.9GHz and boost frequency of 3.9GHz. However, since the laptop has Hydro Overclocking system, the clock speed can hit a peak of 4.4GHz for extra performance. It packs dual-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPUs, 64GB DDR4 RAM and comes with three 512GB SSD.

Thanks to the beefy hardware, the Asus ROG GX800 is VR ready and is capable of delivering smooth, stutter-free VR visuals at 90fps.

It comes with a Mechanical Tactile Advanced Gaming (MechTAG) keyboard with programmable ROG Aura RGB LED effects for individual keys. Other features includes HD camera, Thunderbolt 3.0 and 10Gbps USB 3.1 (Gen 2), 3 x USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, an HDMI port & mini-display Port video outputs a headphone & microphone jack and SD card reader. It is backed by 76Wh battery, and has WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1 for wireless connectivity.

The laptop weighs 5.7kg, and the dock weights at 4.6kg, and you'll get a wheeled suitcase and backpack, the carry the system around.
