Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ launching in India on April 19


Samsung Mobile India has announced that the company's latest flagships the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will launch in the country on April 19. According to reports the smartphone will be priced at Rs. 60,000, and will most likely go on sale on April 21, the same as its global release.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were introduced last month in New York. Both phones have received positive reaction in home market South Korea when it went for pre-orders. In Samsung's home market, the Galaxy S8 line up pre-orders has hit 728,000 units. Even in the U.S the reaction to pre-order is strong. Moreover, Samsung has revealed that the Galaxy S8 line up is proving to be more popular than the Galaxy S7 line up.

Samsung's new Galaxy S8 family sports curves on the side edge with bezels on top and bottom. The Galaxy S8 has 5.7-inch screen and 3000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S8+ has 6.2-inch screen and 3500mAh battery. Apart from these difference, both phone pack the same spec sheet.

The smartphones sport QHD+ display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and are equipped and comes with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 12MP Dual Pixel f/1.7 camera and 8MP f/1.7 front camera. The Indian variant will be powered by Samsung's Exynos 889 chip (w/ Mali-G71 MP20 GPU) and come with features like iris scanner, fingerprint scanner (located at rear), face recognition technology, Android Nougat and IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

The new Galaxy flagships also comes with an AI assistant clled Bixby Voice, which can be accessed via the dedicated hardware button. However, this feature will not be available at launch.

According to Samsung India website the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will have hybrid dual-SIM slots, meaning, the second slot with accept either a SIM card or microSD card.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 will come in Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Maple Gold color. We will get to to know the official pricing and availability details next Wednesday.

  1. I was excited before for buy new Samsung Galaxy s8 , But when i am become to know that Samsung having Galaxy s8 restart problem i am afraid to buy it .
