Nokia 2 spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 212 processor, 1GB RAM

The Nokia 3, 5 and 6 budget Android smartphones are already out in the market, and the company is gearing up to launch its first high-end flagship Nokia 8 on August 16. In addition, it is said to be working on two more budget smartphones: Nokia 2 and 7.

Earlier rumors have suggested that Nokia 2 will be powered by either Snapdragon 212 processor or MediaTek. Now thanks to Geekbench, we get to know some details of this device.

As per the listing Nokia 2 (codenamed 'Unknown Heart') will be equipped with a 1.27GHz quad-core Snapdragon 212 processor, and not MediaTek chip. It is possible that some market will get a MediaTek version.

The listing further reveals that Nokia 2 will pack 1GB RAM and run Android 7.1.1. It is expected to have 8GB internal storage and HD resolution display. The details on screen size, battery and camera is still unknown.

Meanwhile, the Nokia 2's design has been reportedly revealed in sketches. If true, Nokia 2 will feature on-screen navigation controls instead of physical buttons. It also appears to have the same screen size as Nokia 3, a 5-inch screen.

Considering the specs, the Nokia 2 is basically a toned down version of Nokia 3 and should be priced less than $100 or Rs. 7,000. An exact launch date is yet to be known.
