Nokia's first high-end flagship launching on August 16


It seems Nokia's much awaited high-end flagship from Nokia is arriving soon. HMD Global has started sending out media invites for an event in London on August 16, where the Nokia 8 is expected to break cover. 

The invite says "exclusive gathering' to check out "the next milestone for Nokia phones" hinting the upcoming smartphone from Nokia camp is its most important to date.

Previously the company, launched budget devices including the Nokia 3310 and a few other feature phones, and Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 budget Android smartphone, which has already released in major markets. 

But the Nokia 8 will be the company's first flagship product boasting premium design, and high-end specs, with the focus being on the Carl-Zeiss branded dual-camera. The phone will be up against the mobile industry's existing and upcoming heavyweight smartphones like Samsung's Galaxy S8 & Note8, LG G6 & V30, Google Pixel 2, OnePlus 3, Moto Z2 Force to name a few.

According to reports, the Nokia 8 will feature 5.3-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform, 4GB/6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage with microSD card expansion support, 13MP dual-cameras, NFC and fingerprint scanner.

It was recently seen in press renders, in Blue and Steel, while a Copper Gold version also surfaced in live images. It is expected to be priced between €550 and €600, possibly €589 ($686 | Rs. 43,500). 

The Nokia 8 announcement on August 16 will kick-start at 7:30pm London time (12am IST).
