Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Special Edition with 6GB RAM, 64GB storage announced


Xiaomi released the Mi Note 2 in China back in October along with Mi Mix. The device was offered in two versions: 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage. Now the Chinese smartphone maker has announced a new special edition of Mi Note 2. 

The special thing about the phone is that it packs 6GB RAM, and is affordably priced. It also has 64GB storage on-board, while the rest of the specs remain the same.

The new Mi Note 2 Special Edition has been priced at CNY 2899 which is around Rs. 27,500 or $426. For comparison, the existing Mi Note  6GB RAM variants costs CNY 3299 ($486 | Rs. 31,300). 

As for the other specifications, the Mi Note 2 special Edition comes with 5.7-inch QHD OLED Sunlight Display Pro, Snapdragon 821 processor, 4070mAh battery and runs MIUI 8 based Android Marshmallow.

The camera department is handled by a 22.56MP Sony IMX318 rear camera with EIS (electronic image stabilization), f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording and dual-LED flash. The main camera also includes a dedicated 3-axis gyroscope that works in tandem with EIS for 4K video stabilization. For selfies and video calling there's 8MP Sony IMX258 camera.

Other specs include fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE+, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, dual-SIM support, NFC, USB Type-C and Quick Charge 3.0.
