Xiaomi expands to Thailand


The year 2017 is a huge one for Xiaomi. The Chinese device maker is launching slew of devices, opening Mi Stores, breaking sales record, made it to the global list of top five smartphone vendor and more. At the same time, it has been expanding its presence to more countries as well. After Russia, Vietnam and Mexico, Xiaomi has now forayed into Thailand to strengthen its position further in the global market.

Xiaomi will partner with local company VST ECS, that will take care of product distribution and after-sales services. Xiaomi products will be available from both online and offline channels. Online, Xiaomi will sell its products through South East Asia's popular e-commerce store Lazada, owned by Alibaba, and Thai online store IT City.

Initially, Xiaomi will sell the flagship Mi 6, and budget Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4X and Redmi 4A smartphones in the country.

The Mi 6 variant with 6GB RAM/64GB storage/Black color is now available on Lazada for 13,790 Baht ($414), while the 6GB RAM/128GB storage/Blue color variant will be available from September 1.

The Redmi Note 4 is available in two versions: 3GB RAM/32GB storage priced at 5,790 Baht ($174), and 4GB RAM/64GB storage priced 6,790 ($204). They come in Gold, Black and Dark Gray hues.

The Redmi 4X will be offered with 3GB RAM/32GB storage and carry a price tag of 5,790 Baht ($174), while the Redmi 4A with 2GB RAM/32GB storage, and sell for 3,890 Baht ($117).

IT City will have the Redmi Note 4 (3GB RAM version), Redmi 4X and Redmi 4A in stock.
