Facebook is testing pre-loaded Instant Videos

Facebook is testing a new feature called Instant Videos that will lets users to watch videos without using mobile data. The feature was first spotted by The Next Web's Matt Navarra, and was later confirmed by TechCrunch.

In a statement to TechCrunch Facebook said that Instant Video is currently being tested with a small number of Android users, and the aim is to remove data costs when watching Facebook videos.

Instant Videos will be indicated by a lightning icon, and these type of videos will not use your mobile data. Instead it downloads and caches Facebook videos to your phone when you're on WiFi connectivity, hence saving your mobile data. Moreover, these videos will have faster loading times. 

The Instant Video is similar to Instant Articles features that was rolled out in 2015. However, it is not known when Facebook plans to roll out Instant Video feature.
