LG K7i is the world's first phone with Mosquito Away technology


LG India at MWC 2017, New Delhi, launched a budget smartphone called K7i featuring Mosquito Away Technology, first time in a phone. Last year the company had launched a TV series based on the same technology.

The LG K7i comes bundled with two back covers, one normal, and the other 'Mosquito Away Back' case that has a separate hardware built into it. The special case has a speaker that produces ultrasonic sound inaudible and odorless to human to drive the mosquitoes away. LG mentions the device has no harmful chemicals, and the back case does not require any refills. It also comes with a Mosquito Away Stand, so that you can place the smartphone, when mosquito repellent is activated.


In terms of specifications, the LG K7i features 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) IPS display and is equipped with 1.1Ghz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.

For photography, it gets 8MP rear camera with an LED flash and 5MP front facing camera. Connectivity options include dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It runs the dated Android Marshmallow, and packs a 2500mAh battery. It also has a fingerprint scanner at the back.

Priced at Rs. 7,990, the LG K7i will be available via retail stores across he country in Brown color.
