Xiaomi India launches Mi Band HRX Edition

Xiaomi is widely known for its smartphones, but the company has also been able to make a strong impact in the wearable market. Currently it is the world's top wearable maker thanks to the sales of the ultra affordable fitness tracker called Mi Band 2.

That said, the Chinese device maker has launched a special version of Mi Band 2 in India in collaboration with superstar Hrithik Roshan's fashion brand HRX.

Dubbed Mi Band HRX Edition, the fitness tracker packs almost same specs as the Mi Band 2, but offers improved tracking algorithm to accurately monitor your daily activities. It also gets improved battery life, and promises up 23 days of use, compared to Mi Band 2's 20 days battery life. Sadly, it doesn't feature a heart rate sensor.

It is also priced less. While the orginal Mi Band 2 carries a price tag of Rs. 1,999, the new Mi Band HRX Limited Edition is priced at Rs. 1,299.

As for the other specs, the Mi Band 2 sports 0.42-inch screen that displays time, battery status, and fitness data like steps taken, distance travelled calories burned and Sleep rate when you tap the capacitive button below the screen. It also offers vibration alerts for incoming notification such as calls, messages from the connected smartphone. The fitness tracker has a water resistance body, thanks to IP67 certification, and connects to compatible devices (Android 4.4+/iOS 7+) over Bluetooth 4.0 LE. It weighs just 7g.

The Mi Band HRX Edition comes in Black and Blue colored bands, and will be available from September 18 on Mi.com and Mi Home Stores. It will also be available on Flipkart, Amazon India and Myntra starting September 20. Xiaomi will also offer the fitness band in Green and Orange bands at a later date.
