Airtel's FRC144 plan gives new customers 2GB 4G data for 28 days and unlimited on-net calls

India's top telecom operator Airtel already has enticing offers for its existing customers, to keep them from jumping ship. Now to attract new customers it has come out with a FRC 144 plan. This plan is valid for new users only who join Airtel's network and do their first recharge.

The FRC 144 plan comes with a validity of 28 days, and offers unlimited Airtel to Airtel calls with a weekly limit of 1000 minutes and daily limit of 250 minutes. If you cross the limit, the charges will be 10 paise/ minute for the remaining period.

As for data benefits, 4G handset users will get 2GB data, while others will get 1GB data for 28 days, and there's no FUP for data usage. Sadly, the plan won't offer any SMS benefits. Do note that the price of the plan may differ from circle to circle. In some circles such as Kerala, the FRC144 costs Rs. 152.

Airtel also has a similar plan of Rs. 149 for existing customers, but the data benefits are very low. It offer 300MB data for 4G handset users, and only 50MB data for non-4G handset users. It also offers unlimited Airtel to Airtel voice calls, and has a validity of 28 days.

Speaking of new customers, The FRC 144 is a short term plan, as it has a validity of 28 days. For long term usage, Airtel has a FRC 449 plan that offers unlimited voice calls to any networks and 1GB data per day for 84 days. There's also FRC349 that gives you unlimited voice calls and 1GB data per day for 28 days.

According to a recent report from COAI, Airtel is the only operator to add subscribers in September 2017, and the other four incumbent operators (Vodafone, Aircel, Idea and Telenor) lost subscribers in big number. The reason behind Airtel to get new subscribers is  due to these types of attractive tariff plans it has been offering.
