HMD schedules October 31 event in India, Nokia 7 expected


HMD Global has scheduled an event in India on October 31, without revealing what it plans to launch. However, we can expect the company to launch Nokia 7, it latest mid-range phone.

As a reminder, the Nokia 7 was unveiled in China last month, and features 5.2-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 630 processor, 4GB/6GB RAM and 3000mAh battery.



For photography, it has 16MP Carl Zeiess camera with f/1.8 aperture and dual-LED flash, while the front shooter is a 5MP f/2/.0 unit. The cameras boasts "Dual-Sight" mode for "Boathie" experience that lets you use both front and back cameras simultaneously for split-screen photos and video. This feature also lets you stream directly to Facebook and YouTube Live as well in real-time.

Other features include fingerprint scanner, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G LTE, USB Type-C and Nokia OZO Audio enhancements to deliver immersive sound. It runs Android Nougat out of the box, and has a starting price of Rs. 25,000 in China, so the India price can be expected to be around Rs.s 27,000.

If not the Nokia 7, we can expect HMD to launch the entry-level Nokia 2 at the event. The phone is rumored to carry a price tag of $99 (Rs. 6,400) and expected to feature 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 212 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 8MP/5MP cameras and a massive 4000mAh battery.

We'll know more details about Nokia's latest offering for the Indian market, when it launches next week.
