Lenovo ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25 announced


To commemorate ThinkPad's 25th anniversary, Lenovo has introduced a modern incarnation of the classic ThinkPad with retro features. Dubbed ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25, it is a modern take on the original ThinkPad 700C, which was launched in October 5, 1992, and Lenovo says over 130 million units have been sold since. The revamped version of ThinkPad 700C has been in the works for quite some time.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25 flaunts a classic design and features iconic retro features such as backlit seven-row ThinkPad Classic keyboard, dedicated volume buttons, multiple status LEDs, the classic blue Enter key and a multi-color ThinkPad logo.

In terms of specification, the ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25 sports 14-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) touch screen display and is powered by the Intel Core i7-7500U chip. It packs 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics card and 512GB PCIe SSD.

For connectivity, it features  Thunderbolt 3 port, 3 x USB 3.0 ports, a HDMI port, a RJ45 port, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, 4-in-1 card reader, Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi 802.11ac. It runs Windows 10 Pro and promises up to 13.9 hours of battery life. There's also stereo speaker, HD webcam, and fingerprint reader and IR camera for Windows Hello log in. The laptop has a thickness of 19.95mm and weighs 1.6kg.

The ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25 will be available in limited quantities in select countries for $1899 via Lenovo.com and Lenovo's business partners.
