Oppo F5 goes official with near bezel-less design, 20MP selfie camera


As expected Oppo has officially announced the much-hyped selfie-centric Oppo F5 in Philippines. The F5 is Oppo's first smartphone to boast a near-bezel-less design and feature 18:9 aspect ratio screen.

However the main highlight is the selfie camera. The Oppo F5 has 20MP f/2.0 front facing camera backed by AI Beautification technology, that can scan 200 facial recognition spots to offer bokeh effects and beautify the selfie shot. The main camera unit at the rear houses a 16MP f/1.8 sensor and is assisted by LED flash.

As for the other features, the Oppo F5 has 6-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor paired with Mali G71 GPU and 4GB RAM. It comes with 32GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. There's a high-end variant as well featuring 6GB RAM and 64GB storage and Red paint job, which will be available later.

Connectivity options on-board are 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. It has dedicated slots for dual-SIM and microSD card. It runs Android Nougat based ColorOS 3.2 and is fueled by 3200mAh battery. It also has a fingerprint scanner, as well as face unlock system, for unlocking the handset. Color options are Gold and Black.

The Oppo F5 has been priced at Php 15,900 ($306 | Rs. 20,000) for 4GB/32GB model and is now up for pre-order in Philippines and start shipping November 4. The Oppo F5 will also land in India on November 2.
