Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 press render and specs leaked


The latest rugged device Samsung is working on is a tablet called Galaxy Tab Active 2. To remind you, the South Korean tech giant released a rugged version of its flagship Galaxy S8 two months back.

Now Roland Quandt writing for WinFuture.de has revealed some details of the upcoming Galaxy Tab Active 2 (SM-T390 / SM-T395).

According to the source the Galaxy Tab Active 2 will be designed for outdoor usage and will be able to withstand falls up to 1.2m and survive harsh environments. It will boast IP68 water and dust resistance, and come with add-on accessories such as barcode reader for business application. These accessories will connect to the tablet via POGO pins.

In terms of specification, the tablet is said to have 8-inch HD (1280 x 800 pixels) TFT LCD display, 1.6GHz octa-core Snapdragon 7880 chip, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and 4450mAh battery. It will be equipped with 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, fingerprint scanner, and support for S Pen. 

Other notable features include NFC, facial recognition, microSD card slot, Bixby Home, USB Type-C port and Android 7.1 Nougat with Samsung Experience skin on top.

The Galaxy Tab Active 2 will be offered in WiFi only and WiFi/LTE variants and will be priced between 500 and 600 euros depending on the model. That said, an exact release date is not known yet.
