The Moto Z family gets Alexa-enabled Smart Speaker Mod


Motorola's Moto Z line up is best known for its semi-modular design, that lets you snap add on accessories called Moto Mods to back of the phone via 16-magnetic pins to give it extra functionality. There are a few Moto Mods available in the market designed for imaging, gaming, extending battery life and more.

That said, Motorola is adding a new Moto Mod to its line up, in the form of a smart speaker with Amazon's digital voice assistant Alexa built in. 

Dubbed Moto Smart Speaker with Amazon Alexa, the latest addition is designed to deliver enhanced audio quality and at the same time pick up your voice from across the room. It has four microphone to ensure Alexa always hears you. You can ask Alexa questions, to play music, get news, weather updates, sports score and more. You can even control smart home appliances as well.

The Moto Smart Speaker has an 8 watt stereo speaker with two 27mm diameter speaker, operating at a frequency range of 200 Hz to 20kHz, and loudness of up to 82db. It has a built-in 1530mAh battery that promises up to 15 hours of battery life, and is splash-proof.

The Moto Smart Speaker With Amazon Alexa will be available for $149.99 in November in markets where Amazon Alexa is available.
