Motorola has expanded its Moto Mod family with the addition of the new Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod. The new Moto Mod turns the semi-modular Moto Z line up into an instant photo printer.
To get started simply snap the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod on your Moto Z. The mod has a dedicated shutter button you can use to launch the camera app. Then take a picture with filter and border and print it right from your phone using the printer Mod. The accessory even allows you to print you favorite pictures from Facebook, Instagram and Google Photos.
The printer prints the photo on 2 x 3 inch ZINK zero-ink paper smudge-proof automatically when the photo is captured. The photo paper has an adhesive back, making it a sticker if needed, for sticking on surfaces.
The new Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod is priced at $199.99 and will be available in the U.S through Verizon starting November 17. It will soon roll out to other markets globally.

Motorola's Moto Z line up is best known for its semi-modular design, that lets you snap add on accessories called Moto Mods to back of the phone via 16-magnetic pins to give it extra functionality. There are a few Moto Mods available in the market designed for imaging, gaming, extending battery life and more.
That said, Motorola is adding a new Moto Mod to its line up, in the form of a smart speaker with Amazon's digital voice assistant Alexa built in.
Dubbed Moto Smart Speaker with Amazon Alexa, the latest addition is designed to deliver enhanced audio quality and at the same time pick up your voice from across the room. It has four microphone to ensure Alexa always hears you. You can ask Alexa questions, to play music, get news, weather updates, sports score and more. You can even control smart home appliances as well.
The Moto Smart Speaker has an 8 watt stereo speaker with two 27mm diameter speaker, operating at a frequency range of 200 Hz to 20kHz, and loudness of up to 82db. It has a built-in 1530mAh battery that promises up to 15 hours of battery life, and is splash-proof.
The Moto Smart Speaker With Amazon Alexa will be available for $149.99 in November in markets where Amazon Alexa is available.

Motorola has finally announced its Moto Z2 Force flagship. In addition the company also introduced a new 360 Camera Moto Mod, that turns the Moto Z family into a 360-degree camera.
The new 360 Camera Moto Mod is similar to Essential's tiny 360-degree camera module (just plug & play), but comes in the form of a rear case that snaps to the back of the Moto Z family. The cameras has two 13MP cameras (one front and the other at rear) at 1.2.8" for a pixel size of 1.25um and f/2.0 aperture, same as the Moto Z2 Force.
It can shoot 360-degree 4K video at 24fps, along with immersive 3D sound, that Motorola says is one of the camera's main highlight that makes it standout from the competition. Besides 360-degree panoramic shots, you can also capture 150-degree ultra-wide angle still front and rear photos as well.
The 360-degree photos and videos can be easily edited from the Moto Z smartphone itself using the Moto Photo Editor app. They can viewed from Google Photos app, and users can share and live stream the contents across social channels.
The Moto 360 Camera is priced at $299.99 and will be available alongside the Moto Z2 Force Edition on August 10.

Motorola expanded its Moto line up with the Moto Z2 Play. Also the company announced 4 new Moto Mods including a gamepad, a new speaker module, a battery module and wireless charging modules. The new Moto Mods will be compatible with the entire Moto Z line and like the other Moto Mods, will connect via the magnetic pins at the rear.
The Moto GamePad mod attaches to the rear of the phone, and turns it into a handheld gaming console. It has physical button on the left and right side including dual control sticks, D-Pad and four action buttons for a true gaming experience. It packs a 1035mAh battery, to give the phone up to eight hours of additional battery life during gaming sessions.The Mod also includes USB Type-C port for charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.
JBL is refreshing the SoundBoost Moto mod with a new model. The JBL SoundBoost 2 now has water-repellent coating to withstand little spill or splash, three watt speakers, and 1000mAh battery, that is rated to deliver an additional 10 hours of battery life. There's also a built-in kickstand as well. It comes in Blue, Red and Black color, and has more premium design with fabric and improved contours for a better feel in your hand.
The new MotoTurboPower Pack has a built-in 15W fasst charging, and can charge the phone up to 50 percent in just 20 minutes. It also packs an additional 3490mAh battery to provide the Moto Z line extra juice for almost a day if the battery runs out. The Mod includes USB Type-C port and supports 30W TurboPower charger.
Lastly, there's a new set of Moto Style shell Mod in variety of finishes that lets you change the look of rear of the device. The Style Mod also supports wireless charging (up to 10W).
The new Moto Mods will be available globall this summer, with Moto TurboPower Pack starting at $80 (Rs. 5,000), Moto Style Shell with Wireless Charging at $40 (Rs. 2,500), JBL SoundBoost 2 at $80 (Rs. 5,000), and Moto GamePad at $80 (Rs. 5,000).
Continuing to support the Moto Mods platform, Motorola (owned by Lenovo) at MWC 2017 announced that it is teaming up with Amazon to integrate Amazon's digital voice assistant, Alexa in Moto Mods.
The Amazon Moto Mod will work similar to the Amazon Echo speakers, and let users ask Alexa to perform everyday tasks like setting reminders, play music, control smart home products, check news, request Uber ride and more using voice commands.
Moreover, Alexa will be integrated in Moto smartphones later this year. Its worth mentioning that Alexa is currently available in the US, UK, Germany and Austria, so the new feature won't really mean anything for the India users.
This is not the first time, Lenovo and Amazon are teaming up, as earlier this year at CES Lenovo launched a new Alexa powered smart home speaker.
Apart from Amazon Moto Mod, Motorola also announced Moto Power Pack that will offer 50 percent additional battery life to the phone. The new Power Pack Mod also has efficiency mode, which automatically charges the phone to keep efficiency at its peak. It will be available in March for $49.
In addition Motorola also said that it plans to launch more Moto Mods later this year including a wireless charging Moto Mod, a Turbo Power Moto Mod, a charging adapter and a Gamepad Moto Mod with physical controls and integrated battery.
For those uninitiated, Moto Mods are add-on accessories that snap to back of the Moto Z line up via powerful magnetic pins to give the phone extra functionality. Currently there are a total of Moto Mods including Moto Insta-Share projector Mod, JBL SoundBoost Mod, Moto Shells, Incipio offGrid Power Pack, Mophie Juice Pack Mod, Incipio Car Dock Mod and Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod.
Android smartphones with slide out QWERTY keyboards are a rear species in the market. But if you want to get one currently there's the BlackBerry Priv with a hefty price tag.
That said, Motorola is having a solution for that thanks to the Moto Mods platform. The Lenovo owned company will soon release a Moto Mod with slide out QWERTY Keyboard for the Moto Z series.
The QWERTY keyoard slider Mod has a dedicated page on Indiegogo and is listed as coming soon. Similar to previous Moto Mods, the new accessory is also designed to attach to the Moto Z line-up via powerful magnetic pins.
As seen in the image, the new Keyboard Mod has five rows of keys with the top line being number, and the next three the alphabet keys. The Mod will also pack a 2100mAh battery to to give the phone additional juice, and if the project manages get enough backers, the accessory will get support for Qi wireless charging.
In related news Lenovo's (owner of Motorola) General Manager, Middle East for smartphones, Sharay Shams in an interview to The Express Tribune told that the company plans to introduce at least 12 new Moto Mods this year. He also said that the Mods will be compatible with Motorola's Moto Z line up for the next three years.

The Moto Z series phones have got a new Moto Mod add-on accessory which will enhance its imaging experience. Dubbed Hasselblad True Zoom the latest Moto Mod comes from Swedish camera maker Hasselblad and turns the phone into Zoom Camera.
The Hasselblad True Zoom features a 12-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) 10x optical and 4x digital zoom support and 1080p video recording at 30fps. It also has an aperture ranging from f/3.5 to f/6.5, BSI CMOS sensor, focal length range from 4.5mm to 45mm, a Xenon Flash, manuauto ISO, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), two microphones and physical shutter. It offers manual focus, and a Pro Mode with White Balance, f-stopand Exposure.
The add on camera accessory includes capture modes such as Panorama, Video, Professional, Night Landscape, Night Portrait, Sports, Day Landscape and Black Light Portrait. The Hasselblad True Zoom uses the phones battery and connects over WiFi to feed captured content to the phone.
The Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod is priced at $299 (Rs. 20,000) and will be available globally from September. In the U.S it will be up for pre-order on September 8 and will go on sale from September 15.

The Moto Z and Moto Z Force are now official and comes with modular add-on accessories called Moto Mods that snaps to the back of the phone using the high power magnets to add extra functionality. Motorola touts the Moto Mods to be the next era of mobile technology, and these include Moto Insta-Share projector, JBL SoundBoost, Moto Shells and PowerPack
The Moto Insta-Share Projector Mod can turn the Moto Z into a 70-inch projector, which can project contents to the wall or ceiling with 90 degree projection angle. The projector offers 480 resolution, 1:400 contrast ratio and 50 lumens nominal brightness. It comes with a kickstand so that you can project the content in any angle and with an integrated battery that adds up to an hour of extra screen time.
The JBL SoundBoost Mod is an audio-centric accessory and once snapped to the Moto Z will take control of the phone's audio to boost the sound via its stereo loud speaker. It comes with a kickstand and also features an integrated battery that adds up to 10 hours of life.
The PowerPack will add up to 22 hours of life to the Moto Z and comes in fashionable design from Kate Spade New York, TUMI and Incipio. The Incipio offGRID Power Pack packs a 2200maH battery. The charge contained with the powerpack add-on, will only flow once the Moto Z battery is below 80 percent.
The Moto Style Shells are replaceable back panels that changes the look of the Moto Z. These shells come with premium material like wood, leather or patterned fabrics.
Motorola said the these Moto Mods will also work with furture generations of the Moto Z phones. The Moto Mods will be available alongside Moto Z and Moto Z Force in September. Unfortunately, Moto is yet to reveal any price information regarding the Moto Mods.
The company also announced Moto Mods Developer Program to develop new mods and it will be offering a Module Development Kit to developers. The developer who comes up with the best Moto Mod idea by March 31,2017 will be rewarded $1 million.
