LG V30 users in South Korea can now preview Android Oreo
LG has kicked off LG OS Preview Program, which is basically a public beta for testing Android Oreo update on the LG V30. However, the beta program is now limited to the South Korean market, and there are no details when it will be available worldwide.
To enter the program, LG V30 users in South Korea will need to open the "Quick Help" app, and click on the "LG OS Preview" banner to join. Once selected you will get a "Software Update" notification message, when the update is available. Users can give their feedback or suggestions on the forum page within the app.
According to LG, Oreo update will optimize the software for smooth experience, faster boot times and minimize power and battery consumption. The update will also include native Oreo features like PiP mode (Picture in Picture), allowing users to watch videos and support wider variety of high-quality Bluetooth audio codecs such as LDAC codec.
It also said that Oreo update roll out is planned for December, but this time frame is likely for home market Korea, while the global roll out will follow soon.
Besides LG, other OEMs such as Nokia, OnePlus, Huawei and Samsung has already begun testing Oreo for their flagship, while Sony has already rolled out a Oreo stable version to its flagship Xperia XZ Premium.
