MIUI 9 global stable update rolling out for Redmi Note 4
A day after announcing global availability of stable MIUI 9, Xiaomi is now rolling out the update the Redmi Note 4 (Qualcomm variant). Xiaomi says the update is being pushed to "random users".
The update weighs in at 266MB in size, and bumps the MIUI version to MIUI 9.0.3.0NCFMIEI, and includes October security patch. The update also brings new features like multi-windows support for multi tasking, quick switch, screen recorder, new MIUI video app, new system animation and more, along with bug fixes and optimizations to improve the phone's overall performance. Some of the features are mentioned below:
- Faster app launch time
- System optimizations such as new file system, cache management, Wi-Fi speed boost and more
- Mi Drop allows seamless transfer of files between devices without requiring an internet connection
- Three major style notifications: Multiple Styles, Bundling Notifications & Quick Replies
- Split Screen allows you to run 2 apps simultaneously on the same screen
- Remove any unwanted objects from your photo with all new magical Smart Photo Editing tool
- App Vault – Swipe left and you’ve everything you need
- New Mi Video App
- India Exclusive Theme
- IRCTC Card recognizes a generally cluttered SMS PNR and turns it into a card with all information on it
- 12 animated icons
- Eight new calendar cards in Mi Calendar India app like Indian festivals cards, panchang calendar and much more
- New stickers in Gallery app
In case you've not yet received the OTA update yet, you can simply download the stable OTA Zip file from here (Link) and flash MIUI 9 manually on your Redmi Note 4.
Xiaomi is also asking feedback from Redmi Note 4 users who have installed MIUI 9, which you can submit here (Link). Apart from Redmi Note 4, the Redmi Note 4X and Mi Max 2 is also expected to get the update very soon.
