Xiaomi Mi Max 2 picks up new update
Xiaomi has pushed a new update to the Mi Max 2 that brings security improvements and optimizations.
The update arrives as MIUI V9.0.3.0.NDDMIEI, and as per the changelog includes November 2017 Android security patch, which should fix the KRACK WPA2 WiFi vulnerability.
In addition the update brings optimizations to MIUI's notification shade, allowing it to better accommodate messaging app Line and WhatsApp. Lastly, the GMS module has also been updated.
The update package weighs in at 297MB and is rolling out over-the-air. You'll be automatically notified when the update is available. You can also check for the update manually by opening the 'Updater' app on your device. Do note that if your Mi Max 2 is running an older version of MIUI, you will have manually flash the update.
To recap the specs, the Mi Max 2 features 6.44-inch Full HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB internal storage, 12MP Sony IMX386 PDAF assisted rear camera, 5MP 85-degree wide-angle selfie camera, fingerprint scanner, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port and 5300mAh battery. It ships with Android Nougat based MIUI 9.
The 64GB Mi Max 2 is price at Rs. 15,999, while the 32GB Mi Max 2 costs Rs. 13,999. It is available from all leading online stores, Mi.com and Mi Home store.
