Gionee Marathon M5 Lite with 4000mAh battery announced
Gionee has launched a toned down model of its battery-centric Marathon M5 smartphone called Marathon M5 Lite.
This model packs a 4000mAh battery instead of 6020mAh on Marathon M5 and offers up to 40 hours of talk time, 68 hours of music playback, 3 days of regular use and 39 days of standby time. Just like the Marathon M5, the Lite model can be used as a power bank to charge other devices.
The Gionne Marathon M5 Lite sports a 5-inch 720p IPS display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 64-bit processor with Mali T720 GPU, 1GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage. It runs Amigo 3.0 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
It is equipped with 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and CMOS sensor, and for clicking selfies you get a 5-megapixel front camera. The dual SIM phone supports 4G LTE connectivity including Indian bands support. It addition there is support for Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, WiFi and MicroUSB connectivity.
By comparison, Marathon M5 comes with 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and 13-megapixel rear camera. Rest of the specs remain same as Marathon M5 Lite.
The device is made of aviation-grade aluminium alloy, measures 143 x 69 x 9.8mm and weighs 182 grams.
The Gionee M5 Lite is listed on the company's website priced at CNY 999 (Rs. 10,000 | $155). There's no word yet on availability.
