Lenovo A6000 To Launch In India On January 16

At CES 2015, Lenovo launched its budget 4G LTE enabled Android smartphone dubbed - A6000 for Indian market. At the launch time Lenovo did not disclose it pricing and availability details but said that the smartphone will be sold via Flipkart and the handset will be priced "below Rs. 10,000)".

Today, Lenovo sent out invites for an event taking place in New Delhi, India on Friday, January 16 where it will launch the Lenovo A6000 in the country. The handset comes with India's 4G LTE bands and is expected to be priced below Rs. 10,000 and will be available to purchase via Flipkart.

To recap, , the Lenovo A6000 features a 5-inch IPS display and is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage [microSD card support upto 32GB]. The handset runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Lenovo's Vibe 2.0UI. Camera features include an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front camera. The handset is backed by 2300mAh battery which is is rated to deliver up to 13 hours of talk time and up to 264 hours of standby time on 3G network. It measures 141x70x8.2mm and weighs 128 grams.

It will compete against the recently launched LTE devices in the country - the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and YU Yureka which is priced at Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 8,999 respectively.
