Apple Reportedly Developing An Electric Car

Wall Street Journal citing unamed source reports that Apple is working on an Apple branded self-driving electric vehicle. The company is said to be exploring ways to make an entire vehicle and not just individual components and automotive software.

According to the report the project is code named 'Titan' and the design resembles a minivan. Apple is said to be talking to carkmakers and automative suppliers experts familiar with the matter. It is gathering advice on parts and production methods. Apple is also hiring auto experts to work at a new research lab.

Apple already has the technology that may lend itself to the electronic car. The company has researched battery technology and mapping system it debuted in 2012 which can be used for navigation. Last year, the company unveiled it CarPlay, a software system for automakers to use in its cars. It connects to iPhone and takes advantage of the features of iPhone which include drving direction and Siri's voice control.

An Apple spokesman declined to comment on "rumours or speculation", the report stated
