Panasonics's Semi-Rugged 'Toughbook CF-54' Is Lighter, Faster, Thinner And Tougher
Panasonic unveiled a new semi-rugged notebook dubbed Toughbook CF-54. The company states that the Toughpad CF-54 is targeted to the workers of the automotive diagnostic industry and field service workers who specialise in indoor repairs and maintenance.
The laptop is 50% thinner and 25% lighter than competing devices in the semi-rugged Toughbook category. It is equipped with the latest 5th Generation Intel Core vPro processor which delivers increased performance and low power consumption.
The Toughbook CF-54 features a 14-inch touch screen display which is available in two versions - HD (1366x768) and Full-HD (1920x1080). It is powered by an Intel i5 processor with the i7 as an option, if you want better performance.
Connectivity features include LAN, VGA, HDMI, True Serial port, USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and SD card slot though some of those are optional. It also supports Wireless LAN a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0. Other features include 4G LTE, dual pass through antenna, Contactless Smart Card Reader and a Fingerprint reader. The CF-54 comes with a docking connector for vehicle or desktop mounting.
