Make your Android phone do your math homework with 'PhotoMath'

Its time to say goodbye to your math guide books because this app is going to help you solve complex mathematical problems in a matter of seconds just by clicking a picture.

PhotoMath, a app that lets you solve math equations using your smartphone camera is now available for download on Android devices. The app was initially made available for iOS and Windows Phone in October last year.

To solve an equation you need to open the PhotoMath app, point your smartphone's camera to the math problem and it will instantly display the answer. It can also show the steps on how the equation was solved. It supports printed problems from Math textbooks.

The PhotoMath app is developed by Damir Sabol, a Croatian computer and expert. He got the idea of developing the app when helping his son with his maths homework. The app is based on PhotoPay which was introduced in 2012, that facilitated mobile banking, by scanning household bills and paying them instantly.

Facts : PhotoMath app has been downloaded more than 11 million times since its introduction in October. In January alone the app solved 8 million math problems.

PhotoMath for Android is a free download. It is 4.1MB in size and is compatible with Android 4.1 and above.
