Karbonn forays into Mobile Accessories segment in India, introduces power banks


Karbonn mobiles, one of the popular handset makers in India has stepped in the accessories segment with the launch of Portable power banks and Screen guards.

The Portable Power Banks and Screen guards will come from the company's newly launched 'Karbonn Mobile Accessories Vertical'

The Karbonn power banks are available in three types - Polymer 5 (5000mAh), Polymer 7 (7000mAh) and Polymer 10 (10000mAh). The 7000mAh and 10,000 mAh power banks are equipped with dual charging ports for charging more than one device and LED indicators that shows the amount of battery capacity. 

The 10000mAh power bank is fitted with LED torch for illumination and  TF Card reader and has dual charging ports with LCD display for indicating power capacity. Karbonn says it is India's first is multipower bank.

All three power banks use an intelligent IC for efficient load fluctuation management. The Polymer 5 will come in blue, copper or white colors, Polymer 7 comes in pink, white and orange colors and Polymer 10 comes in black and white colors.

The Screen Gaurd comes under the brand 'Ultra Clear' customised for Karbonn mobile devices. The screen guard is hard and durable and offers high touch sensitivity. It also has a special anti fingerprinting coating for smooth operation and are extremely sturdy and scratch-proof for minimal wear and tear.

The Karbon Polymer series of 5000mAh, 7000mAh and 10,000mAh power banks are priced at Rs.999, Rs. 1,299 and Rs. 1,599 respectively and will be available to purchase via snapdeal. The screen guards will be available in retail stores and ecommerce portals in India. There is no details about its pricing.

Commenting on the launch of its Mobile Accessories Vertical, Shashin Devsare, Executive Director of Karbonn, said:

"The increasing mobile adoption in India has given an impetus to the demand for mobile accessories market which is burgeoning rapidly. Currently, the accessories market is dominated by grey market products which impact the functioning and efficiency of the device. The move towards expanding our product portfolio to include mobile accessories is aimed at offering the consumer the choice of technologically superior mobile auxiliaries which are affordable. We are highly optimistic about the growth of Karbonn’s accessories vertical and expect it to touch 100 crores by the end of FY 2015-2016."
