Microsoft working on new Surface tablet with low-power Intel chip
According to a report, Microsoft is planning to announce a new Surface tablet that will have a low-powered Intel processor and won't be a RT device.
The new surface tablet is expected to be fanless and support low powered CPU, which could be Intel Atom or Intel Core M based processor. It will come pre-loaded with Windows 8.1, but will be upgradable to Windows 10, when Microsoft launches the OS in the summer (between June and August) of 2015.
"This is a first for the non-pro Surface line-up, and further solidifies reports regarding the death of Windows RT" adds the report.
The new surface tablet will be a full-sized tablet and not a Surface Mini device.
Microsoft is expected to announce the product some time before or at the Build 2015 developers conference in late April.
