Samsung Galaxy Tab A with 8-inch and 9.7-inch displays goes official in Russia


Samsung has quietly announced new tablet in Russia called the the Galaxy Tab A. The Galaxy Tab A comes in two screen sizes 8-inch and 9.7-inch.

The 8-inch and 9.7-inch tablets features XGA LCD screen with 1024x768 screen resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio. The 8-inch tablet offer 160ppi while the 9.7-inch tablet offers 132ppi.

The 8-inch Galaxy Tab A comes with 1.5GB RAM and 4200mAh battery, while the 9.7-inch comes with 2GB RAM and 6000mAh battery. Both tablets will be offered in Wi-Fi or Cellular variants. Rest of the specs will be the same.

The Galaxy Tab A 8-inch and 9.7-inch will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor). It houses 16GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD card upto 128GB. Both run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Camera features include 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and LTE. It also include an S-Pen stylus. The tablets will have a thickness of 7.5mm.

Galaxy Tab A 8-inch Wi-Fi variant  - priced between 16,990 (US$ 275 / Rs. 17,238 approx.) and 18,990 rubles (US$ 307 / Rs. 19,260 approx.)

Galaxy Tab A 8-inch LTE variants - priced between 20,990 (US$ 340 / Rs. 21,288 approx.) and 22,990 rubles (US$ 372 / Rs. 23,317 approx.)


Galaxy Tab A 9.7-inch  Wi-Fi only - priced between 20,990 (US$ 340 / Rs. 21,288 approx.)  and 22,990 rubles (US$ 372 / Rs. 23,317 approx.)

Galaxy Tab A 9.7-inch LTE - priced between 24,990 (US$ 404 / Rs. 25,353 approx.)  and 26,990 rubles (US$ 436 / Rs. 27,3853 approx.)

There are no details on the global availability of the tablets.
