Samsung's Animal Edition Battery Packs are the cutest you will ever see


Samsung has announced the availability of the Animal Edition Battery Packs that features illustrations of four species of endangered animals.This is a part of the company’s ‘Charge the Life’ campaign, which aims to raise awareness about endangered animals. Part of the proceed will go directly to non-profit organizations that are concerned with the preservation of endangered species.

The Animal Edition battery packs will be available in two sizes - 8400mAh and 11,300mAh featuring illustrations of four endangered species. - Lesser Panda, Fennec Fox, Giant Panda and Golden Monkey.

The 8,400mAh battery pack is equivalent to more than three times the capacity of Galaxy S6. It features the image of Lesser Panda or a Fennec Fox. These are listed as Vulnerable and Least concern respectively.


The 11,300mAh battery pack is equivalent to more that four times the battery capacity of Samsung Galaxy S6. It can charge the Galaxy Note 4 battery more than twice. It features the images of Giant Panda and Golden Monkey which are listed as 'Endangered'.


The battery packs has integrated cable with micro USB (5 pin) that lets you charge your device, you just have to pull the cable out and connect the device you want to charge. It has clear power level display and is capable of charging two devices at once. You can connect one device to the integrated cable and the other to the USB port.

It will be complemented by an interactive app called "Charge the Life" that will show charging progress of the compatible Samsung devices. The LED indicator on the battery pack shows the amount of remaining charge. You have to press the button on side to check the battery status.

Samsung has not revealed the pricing and availability details of the battery packs but can be expected to roll out along with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
