You Can Now Watch and Upload 360-Degree Videos on YouTube


YouTube now offers a new way to see and share your world. The popular video streaming website now supports 360 degrees videos viewing.
 

Youtube has posted a playlist o 360-degree videos for you to watch. For now the 360 degree videos is supported on Android devices and Chrome desktop browsers. But soon it will be available on iOS devices and other browsers too.
 

For Android it is compatible with devices running Android 4.1 and above. You will have to move your smartphone or tablet around as you watch to get the 360 degree experience. If you use Chrome browser, you can simply drag the mouse around or simply use the four arrows that are on the top left.
 

YouTube has a list of approved cameras that are able to shoot and upload 360-degree videos -  Bublcam, Giroptic’s 360cam, IC Real Tech’s Allie, Kodak’s SP360 and RICOH THETA
 

For now, people shooting 360 degree videos will have to include a script on a video file that will allow YouTube to upload the video with correct metadata. In the near future, YouTube plans on making the upload process automatic.
