ASUS Republic of Gamers announces GR6, a console-inspired gaming PC
ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced a new console-inspired gaming PC dubbed ROG GR6. It is an ultra-compact system built inside a 2.5-liter chassis that measures 238 x 245 x 60mm and weighs 1.28kg. Asus claims it to be "as minimalistic and silent as possible."
The GR6 has Steam installed and will boot into Steam Big Picture mode with the tap of button. Asus is working with Valve to ensure that the GR6 works perfectly with Steam OS and Steam Controller.
The ROG GR6 is powered by Intel Core i5-5200 processor i5-5200U, a 15W Broadwell processor which is paired with NVIDIA Geforce GTX 960M with 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM. It packs SO-DIMM slots which can hold up to 16GB of DDR3L at 1600 MHz. It comes with two 2.5-in SSDs/HDDs.
Connectivity options include 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Intel Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI port, display port, four USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports. It runs Windows 8.1 and comes bundled with ROG software and packages such as SupremeFX Audio, Soundstage, SenseAmp, Sonic Radar, GameFirst III and AI Suite III. The power is provided by a 19V DC-in and a power brick.
ASUS ROG has included optional accessories such as ROG Gladius mouse, M801 Keyboard and ROG Sica gaming mouse, RA01 gaming keyboard.
