Sony Xperia Z4 officially announced


Sony has unveiled its 2015 flagship device, the Xperia Z4 at an event in Japan. The smartphone sports an aluminum frame with reinforced polycarbonate corners. It is 6.9mm thick and weighs 144g.

Sony Xperia Z4 features 5.2-inch (1920x1080 pixels) Triluminos display with Live Colour LED powered by X-Reality engine 600. It is IP5, IP6 and IP8 certified for dust and water resistance.

Under the hood there is a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB RAM.

The smartphone comes with 32GB internal storage and microSD card slot (up to 128GB card supported. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Camera features includes 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Exmos RS sensor, high speed autofocus, BIONZ image processor, LED flash and 4K video recording. There is also a 5.2-megapixel front facing camera with wide-angle lens and Exmor R sensor.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE /3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ GLONASS, MHL 3.0 and NFC. A 2930mAh battery runs the show in Xperia Z4. It also comes with Sony's LDAC audio technology that delives high-quality audio streaming via Bluetooth.

Sony Xperia Z4 comes in Black, Copper, Aqua Green and White color variants. The company has not revealed the availability and pricing of the Xperia Z4, but confirmed that it will go on sale in Japan this summer.
