Oppo Joy Plus with 4-inch display launched in India for Rs. 6990


Chinese smartphone make Oppo launched a new entry-level handset for the Indian market dubbed Oppo Joy Plus. It comes with a price tag of Rs. 6990. The device is a dual-SIM smartphone and has two SIM card slots (mini SIM and micro SIM).

Oppo Joy Plus features 4-inch WVGA LCD display (480x800 pixels) and is powered by 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The smartphone packs 1GB RAM and comes with 4GB internal storage and microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB supported). It runs Android 4.4 KitKat with ColorOS 2.0 UI on top.

Camera features include 3-megapixel rear camera with CMOS sensor, LED flash and 0.3-megapixel VGA front facing camera. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and Bluetooth.

A 7000mAh battery runs the show on Oppo Joy Plus. It measures 124x63x9.9mm, weighs 125 grams and comes in Blue or White color options.

Tom Lu, CEO, OPPO Mobile India, commenting on the launch said "The smartphone market in India is constantly evolving and we intend to reach across sections through our budget Smartphone, Joy Plus. We are looking at aggressive market penetration this year and we are confident that Joy Plus, packed with latest features will provide our customers more personal and reliable mobile experience,".

At the given specs for the Rs. 6,990 price point, the Oppo Joy Plus does not look like a threat for other handsets like Lenovo A6000 and Xiaomi's Redmi 2 at the said price.
