Lenovo launches A5000 smartphone with 5-inch HD display, 4000mAh battery


Lenovo launched a new smartphone in the A-series dubbed A5000 in Russia. The handset is also listed on Lenovo's official UAE site. It is also available in India through retail stores according to Mahesh Telecom.

The Lenovo A5000 features 5-inch (1280x720 pixels) HD IPS display. It is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6582 processor paired with Mali 400 GPU and 1GB RAM. The handset comes with 8GB of internal storage and microSD card slot for storage expansion (supports up to 32GB). It runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

Camera features include 8-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth.

 It is backed by 4000mAh battery that offers up to 35 hours of talk time and up to 33.5 days standby. The smartphone also comes with Quick Charge feature that allows the battery to get fully charged in 3 hours, a 15 minute charge lasts up to 4 hours of talk time.

The A5000 measures 140x71.4x9.98mm, weighs 160 grams and will be offered in black or white color options.

According to Mahesh Telecom, the Lenovo A5000 is priced at Rs. 10,250 for Indian market and is expected to launch in the coming days. In Russia it comes with a price tag of RUB 12,000 ($227 | Rs. 14,500).
